El fin de tu fobia a los insectos

Este articulo, lo lei en un revista y me parecio muy interesante, ya que, se trata sobre la fobia a los insectos, por que todos conocemos a alguien que le tiene miedo a estos seres o incluso a nosotros nos dan miedo.

Es por eso que este articulo se basa en solo tres acciones para enfrentarnos a los insectos.

1. Analiza los motivos
normalmente cuanto menos conocemos el objeto de nuestros miedos mas lo tememos. Cuanto mas creemos en los fantasmas, mas momentos de panico sufrimos. En consecuencia. la solucion de esta foba pasa por analiza ñas razones de tus miedos y desensibilizarte. Para ello, seria buena idea que, observaras imagenes o documentales sobre insectos con el fin de habituarte a su aspecto, y el peligro que te pueden traer algunos insectos.


2. Respira y piensa
Cuando veas a un insecto no salgas corriendo, la huida siempre aunmenta el miedo. Dejarse invadir por la emocion puede transformar un simple miedo en una crisis de panico. Respira hondo y evalua serenamente la situacion: ¿Quien es realmente mas fuerte?¿Quien corre verdadero peligro?¿Ese pequeño insecto o tu mucho mayor que el y armado con un periodico en la mano?.

3. Consejos para tu entorno
Piensa en tus propios miendos, antes de reirte de los ajenos, no hagas una groma a la persona que sufre de esta fobia, ya que, puede transformarse en una hostilidad hacia a ti. Por eso, si tu no les temes pero un amigo (a) si, animalo (a) a que pase un buen momento para que se despreocuppe de susu miedos.

Al hablar de personajes prometedores no podemos dejar pasar la oportunidad de mencionar al mitico Sreech, de la serie juvenil "salvados por la campana". Dustin Diamond, Screech, paso de es unos de los noños mas famosos a un desesperado actor en busca de fama. Por que, al termino de la serie no tuvo mucha suerte, ya que, el personaje de Sreech lo tenia muy araigado. Durante el transcurso Dustin hizo de todo para sobrevivir desde profesor de ajedrez hasta vendedor. Si vendedor, y comenzó junto con Jennifer, su mujer, a vender máscaras de disfraces, negocio que posteriormente se fracasó. Pero despues de se coloco a vender camisetas (t-shirt) con un costo de us$20, que contenian su imagen y un cartel que decia, “Save my house”. Ademas incursiono en otros generos cinematograficos, como el porno, en donde, Screech, sale junto con dos mujeres. Cabe destacar que solo fue a un nivel amateur y que esta produccion salio a la venta el 2008.

La nueva apuesta pra solucionar el cambio climatico

Se estudia utilizar carbón vegetal para absorber dióxido de carbono y así reducir las emisiones de gases invernadero. Esto podría ser una revolución que detendría el cambio climático.

Científicos estadounidenses y alemanes han descubierto que el carbón vegetal presenta ventajas que podrían ser decisivas para detener el cambio climático. Por medio de procedimientos sencillos se podría producir biocarbón a partir de la incineración de biomasa en las entrañas de la Tierra, reduciendo así la emisión de gases invernadero en un 50 por ciento.

El carbón vegetal o biocarbón es el producto de deshecho de la madera y otros restos vegetales. Así, cuando en la América precolombina los indios de la Amazonía quemaban no sólo restos de plantas, sino también huesos de animales, enterrando todo bajo la tierra, este abono hacía que las plantas de maíz se duplicaran en altura.

La terra preta, o tierra negra, sigue hoy abonando un 10 por ciento de la Amazonía. Y los investigadores han revelado el secreto de su eficacia: se trata del carbón vegetal, que posee en su interior poros muy finos en los que se almacenan minerales. Pero no sólo es eficiente como fertilizante, sino que podría detener el curso del cambio climático si se lo produce bajo tierra.

El carbón vegetal reduce la emisión de CO2

El carbón vegetal se forma cuando se quema lentamente biomasa a bajas temperaturas y sin oxígeno. En este tipo de procedimiento se produce y se emite la mitad de CO2 que si se queman los deshechos a temperatura normal, o si se los deja descomponerse. Un 50 por ciento del carbono del material original permanece unido al carbón vegetal durante cientos de años. Tal es así que algunos suelos negros de la Amazonía tendrían una antigüedad de 7.000 años. Esto significa que, si se transforma biomasa en carbón vegetal, se reduce la emisión de CO2 a la atmósfera en un 50 por ciento.

Además de llevarse el dióxido de carbono, junto al carbón vegetal se forman gases que, sintetizados, pueden usarse como biocombustible. Y el carbón también mejora los suelos gracias a que absorbe minerales y agua. De este modo, piensan los expertos, podrían generarse más efectos positivos para el medioambiente, ya que se ahorraría en fertilizantes para mejorar la cosecha, y en combustible fósil. Y lo más sorprendente es que la atmósfera terrestre se enfriaría, ya que se evitaría emitir 35 gigatoneladas de gases invernadero.

Este descubrimiento visionario sólo traería beneficios ("situación win-win-win"), opina David Laird, del Departamento de Agricultura de EE.UU. en el semanario alemán Der Spiegel, El por qué de que aún no se ponga en práctica la "revolución negra" reside en que la técnica todavía no es rentable. A los agricultores les conviene más convertir su cosecha de colza en biogas o biocombustibles. El alto precio de los combustibles hace que se lo utilice para producir energía, y que no sea usual abonar con carbón los sembradíos.

Según Der Spiegel, en EE.UU. existen instalaciones ya capaces de elaborar procesos para aislar combinaciones orgánicas de uso en la industria alimentaria, además de carbón vegetal. En Australia habría un equipo capaz de elaborar 500 kilogramos de biomasa por hora. Pero para contribuir al enfriamiento de la atmósfera se necesita contar con sistemas diez veces más poderosos. Dado que no necesita de un desarrollo técnico a largo plazo, podría aplicarse en un futuro inmediato.

En el instituto Max Planck de Potsdam, Alemania, los investigadores han desarrollado un método para carbonizar biomasa húmeda a partir de ácido cítrico. Se trata de un procedimiento que demora unas cuantas horas, mientras que en la Tierra puede tomar millones de años.

Los científicos que preconizan los beneficios del carbón vegetal quieren que éste forme parte del Protocolo de Kyoto, ya que es "tan importante como la reforestación". Esperan que la Conferencia del Clima en Copenhagen en diciembre próximo promueva el reconocimiento de sus beneficios.

Farah Fawcett ha muerto

Sin duda este no es un gran dia para el mundo artitico mundial, por que, ha muerto la actriz norteamericana Farrah Fawcett, Farrah murio en el hospital de Los Ángeles rodeada de la familia y amigos, el deceso fue a los 62 años a las 9.30 de Los Angeles tras 3 largos años de lucha contra el cancer de colon que padecia.

Farrah Fawcett salto a la fama por su papel en 'Los Ángeles de Charlie' y tambien estuvo casada con Ryan O'Neal donde tuvieron un hijo llamado Redmond, quien se encuentra en prisión por posesión de drogas. Durante este proceso O`Neal siempre estuvo al lado de su amada, Farah, y en donde Ryan le pidio que se casaran nuevamente, estas fueron las palabras de O`Neal,-"Nuevamente le pedí a Farrah Fawcett que se casara conmigo, y ella aceptó"-, declaro Ryan O'Neal durante una entrevista con Barbara Walters para el programa de la cadena ABC "20/20"


Farah habia sido diagnosticada con cáncer colorectal en 2006, que se expandió a su hígado en 2007, y tras una larga y valeroso lucha, Farah Fawcett murio.

Pero el mal no se detuvo y llegó a deteriorar la salud de Jackson al punto de apenas poder hablar y haber perdido el 95% de la visión de su ojo izquierdo. Michael Jackson se preparaba para su retornos a los escenarion en Londres, donde provoco una gran euforia dentro de sus fan, ya que, se vendieron mas de 1 millon de entradas en una hora, la venta mas rapida de la historia.

El fracaso de los Netbooks

Los consumidores de los pequeños computadores, netbooks no están satisfechos con su compra. Asi lo revela el estudio del grupo NPD.

El grupo NPD realizo una encuesta a dueños de netbooks en EE.UU, en la que concluyo que dichos compradores no sabian lo que estaban comprando, es así, que esperaban que los netbooks tuviran el mismo rendimiento que los notebook.

Los netbook son computadores mas pequeños que los notebook, su pantalla varia entre 8 y 10 pulgadas, además su memoria y su capacidad de rendimiento es menor y tampoco no tienen lector de CD.

El estudio revelo que al menos el 60% pensaron que estos mini-computadores tendrían el mismo desempeño que un notebook. Eso revela que el 58% de quienes compraron un netbook en vez de un notebook dijo estar muy satisfechos con su compra, en comparación del 70% de quienes planificaron siempre adquirir un netbook. Dentro del segmento etario de consumidores varia de 18 y 24 años, el 65% compró un nebtook esperando un mejor desempeño, y sólo un 27% dijo que su computador funcionaba mejor de lo que esperaron.

Pero el netbook no solo trae cosas malas por que lo mas destacable es la portabilidad en donde un 60% de ellos dijeron fue esa la razón por la cual lo compraron, pero también un 60% confesó nunca haberlo sacado de la casa.

DIMMU BORGIR: 'DARK FORTRESS' PREVIEW BOOK TO BE AVAILABLE AT WIZARD WORLD PHILADELPHIA

Terminal Press has secured some prime real estate at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con this June 19th-21st at booth #1000 and will be celebrating with an exclusive "DIMMU BORGIR: Dark Fortress" preview book.

Terminal Press, in association with Nuclear Blast, had previously announced the "DIMMU BORGIR: Dark Fortress" preview book that will be available at the Nuclear Blast booth (#116) at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Today, Terminal Press announced that they will, in fact, have a separate Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con Exclusive version that will be ready to make a surprise debut at this weekend's convention.

The book contains a thirteen page first-look preview of the title along with pin-ups and covers which are exclusive to this edition. This will be an extremely limited run and will be available on a first come, first served basis: no pre-orders or reserve tickets are available.

The book's writer, Brian Ferrara, and artist Narek Gevorgian will be at the Terminal Press booth for signings, sketches, and to field any questions about their newest project.

Lo nuevo de Iphone ya esta disponible

Las mejoras del nuevo Iphone radican en, mejor control de gestion, control de voz, mayor capacidad y velocidad, pero las mejoras radican principalmente en un software mas funcional, que te las presento a continuacion.

1. Mejoras en la gestión de texto: Parece que se han dado cuenta de que terminales de estas características deben estar también pensados para la introducción de texto y no sólo para su lectura. Para ello se permite ahora el teclado en apaisado, que es más cómodo para introducir el texto y sobre todo se permite copiar y pegar texto.

2. Control por voz: mejora sustancial en el manejo de este dispositivosobre todo en el binomio automóvil-teléfono.

3. Mejoras en la conexión: Se permitirá que los nuevos terminales actúen como módem y por lo tanto poder utilizar la conexión de datos en un momento determinado con nuestro portátil convencional, lo que da una gran movilidad, en donde se puede trabajar trabajar o enviar un documento que hemos creado con nuestro portátil con la conexión de datos de nuestro teléfono. A la vez también permite en envío de MMS, cosa que aunque parezca increíble no era posible hasta ahora.

4. Mayor velocidad: De hecho el nombre del sistema operativo tiende a mejorar esta característica. Mejora el navegador Safari e incluye soporte para HML5, el nuevo estándar de navegación que aprovechará las páginas ya programadas en este nuevo estándar y sus mejoras en multimedia. El nuevo procesador le dota todavía de más velocidad lo que unido a un aumento de memoria RAM consigue una buena mejora en este aspecto.

5. Mayor capacidad: Mas almacenamiento, por que, con los nuevos modelos dobla su almacenamiento ofreciendo hasta 32 GB, la mejora en la cámara que pasa a ser de 3,2 megapíxeles y se permite la grabación de vídeo a 640 × 480 píxeles.

La nueva serie de Fox Channel

Mental es la nueva serie de FOX Channel. Mental esta protagonizada por Chris Vance (Prison Break) y Annabella Sciorra (The Sopranos), Mental es la primera producción americana que se grabará en los estudios de Fox Telecolombia, en Bogotá.
El vicepresidente y director editorial de Fox Latin American Channels. En argumento de mental se basa en un drama medico, centrado en un particular psiquiatra (Chris Vince), que trabaja en un centro de salud mental de Los Ángeles. quien posee una misteriosa habilidad para entra en las mentas de sus pacientes y ver la realidad de ellos, es hay, donde se basa para crear trataminiento "singulares", en el cual, sus compañeros de hospital no estan de acuerdo.

Mental esta programada para 13 capitulos con duracion de una hora cada uni de ellos y es transmitida por Fox International Channels en América Latina, Europa y Asia.

Introduccion
A pesar de que todas las personas nos relacionamos y nos comunicamos diariamente, no siempre nos detenemos a reflexionar sobre la importancia de ello ni acerca de los problemas que se pueden presentar al respecto. Tal situación dificulta que tomemos medidas para mejorar nuestra forma de relacionarnos de una manera más positiva y creativa.
la gran riqueza de las relaciones humanas.

Como nos relacionamos?
Cuando nos relacionamos con los demás, esperamos reciprocidad, esto quiere decir que deseamos dar, pero también recibir; escuchar y ser escuchados, comprender y ser comprendidos. Dar y recibir requiere seguridad y claridad de quiénes somos. Las dificultades están casi siempre relacionadas con la falta de valoración y apreciación que tenemos sobre nosotros mismos, o bien, con que no hemos aprendido a ver las cosas como "el otro" las ve y a respetar su punto de vista. Uno de los aspectos más importantes de las relaciones entre las personas es la comunicación, ya que a través de ella logramos intercambiar ideas, experiencias y valores; transmitir sentimientos y actitudes, y conocernos mejor.
La comunicación nos permite expresarnos y saber más de nosotros mismos, de los demás y del medio en que vivimos.
Antes de que naciéramos, ya nos comunicábamos con nuestros padres al escuchar sus voces, sus movimientos y responder a ellos con movimientos dentro del vientre de nuestra madre y una vez que nacimos, nos comunicamos con nuestros balbuceos y primeras palabras, con nuestro llanto o con nuestras sonrisas.
La comunicación nos sirve para expresar lo que sentimos, lo que necesitamos y lo que pensamos de los demás, para entender el mundo que nos rodea y para ser escuchados; también, para conocer a las personas con las que nos relacionamos diariamente.

Dificultades para comunicarnos y relacionarnos
A pesar del papel tan importante que tiene la comunicación en nuestra vida, no siempre se da de manera fácil.
Estas diferencias, aparentemente nos separan "todo un océano", pero si lo pensamos bien y le sacamos provecho a lo que
podemos aprender de los demás, lograremos transformar en beneficios esas limitaciones.
A continuación, presentamos algunas situaciones cotidianas que nos pueden dificultar la comunicación en las relaciones.

Si mejor es la comunicacion mejor es la relacion
Lo primero en la comunicación es atreverse a hablar con los demás, perder el miedo a expresar nuestros sentimientos, experiencias, sensaciones; para eso, necesitamos ordenar nuestras ideas, de manera que sepamos qué vamos a decir y cómo queremos hacerlo.
Compartir lo que nos pasa y lo que sentimos nos puede abrir muchas posibilidades: decirlo a otra persona nos puede facilitar entender un poco más lo que nos ocurre y hacer frente a los problemas.
Saber escuchar es algo que aprendemos desde pequeños, pero que debemos ejercitar. En ocasiones ocurre que sólo escuchamos lo que nos agrada o nos conviene; si sentimos que algo de lo que nos están comunicando nos puede herir o molestar, preferimos ignorarlo. Por eso, es importante que cuando escuchemos, lo escuchemos todo, con atención y hasta el final.
Comunicarnos con respeto con las demás personas. Siempre resulta mejor tratar a los demás como nos gustaría ser tratados.
También es importante que al comunicarnos no olvidemos: Hablar de manera clara y sencilla.
Ver a los ojos de la otra persona y demostrarle que se quiere la comunicación con ella.
Conciliar lo que expresamos con nuestros gestos, con lo que decimos con palabras.
Escuchar con todos nuestros sentidos.
No juzgar ni afectar la comunicación de otros, mediante la burla o la ridiculización.
No tratar de demostrar lo que no se es o no se sabe.

Consejos para invertir

A continuación les presento diez tips o consejos relacionados al mundo de las finanzas y a como comportarse en el mercado bursátil, para tener una buena rentabilidad.
1. Método versus sistema
La creación de nuevos analisis siempre se realizara pero en el mercado de bursátil, se debera a la aplicación sistematica y rigurosa de un analisis y a su ejecución.
2. Independencia de pensamiento
Para permanecer en el ambiente bursátil, lo más importante es aprender a ganar dinero relizando tus propios analisis, por que, así te podras transformarte en el dueño de tus acciones “jugadas”, así no tendras que confiar en fuentes extrañas o poco fiables. Además los buenos datos sólo son dados a unos pocos.
3. Aprovechar la inercia
Una acción que muestra un alza sostenida de precio tendra tendencia a continuar a crecer hasta su punto de inflexión, luego comenzara a bajar de precio. Aca es importante saber cuando comprar, ya que la inercia se comporta con un alza o baja de la accion para q luego baje o suba, este comportamiento siempre es igual, lo que no sabemos cuanto dura la inercia.
4. No sobretransar
Hay que poner atención a la sobretransacion, comprar y vender en periodos muy cortos por que el unico ganador sera el agente que opera en el mercado como los Brokers o Dealers.
5. Desarrollar la virtud de la paciencia
la paciencia es fundamental, ya que, no todas las oportunidades son buenas por eso la espera es primordial para realizar nuestra jugada, por que, con paciencia se obtienen las mejores utilidades.
6. Mantener las buenas acciones
La única manera de obtener buena rentabilidad se cultivar las buenas acciones, y deshacerse de las acciones que están estancadas.
7. No limitar los precios, ni en la compra ni en la venta
Todas las órdenes, tanto de compra como de venta, deben ser dadas a precio de mercado. Una vez que se determina que una acción está en condiciones de ser comprada, porque iniciará su ciclo ascendente, lo importante es comprarla al precio de ese momento.
8. Otorgarse una recompensa tangible, si triunfa
Como premio por hacer lass cosas bien date un gusto por algo estas en el mercado bursátil, para ganar dinero y disfrutarlo..
9. No sobrediversificar la cartera
Varios profesores y especialistas han realizados estudios acerca de la diversificación, porque la diversificación disminuye el riesgo, pero no quiere decir que la sobre-diversificación lo disminuya más, lo que se recomienda es tener 5 titulos como limite.
10. No desesperar, siempre habrán nuevas oportunidades
Por ultimo y no menos importante es no desesperar por que no tomamos una oportunidad y tratamos de remediar eso con compras y/o ventas sin información adecuada, y el unico perjudicado es el redimiento de nuestras utilidades. Por eso, es no desesperar ya que, siempre habran nuevas oportunidades a la “vuelta de la esquina”.

Metal Hammer: Does it mean a lot to be able to return to Europe with a new line-up and play some big festivals?

Dino: “It is a really big deal for us to go back to the UK and Europe, because to be honest with you, that was the first place that really accepted Fear Factory for what it was. People really embraced us right away in Europe, before America or anywhere else in the world besides Australia. Those were the first countries to really get what we were doing and to feel really passionate about it. America happened a little later. Soul Of A New Machine and Demanufacture were obviously groundbreaking records, but America was so into death metal at the time that they didn’t know what to think about the clean vocals. They didn’t know how to take that, and it took a little time for people to get used to that. But in Europe and the UK and Australia, they sucked it up right away and said ‘This is great!’ So it’s going to be exciting for us, for me, to go out there and do it again.”

Metal Hammer: Christian and Raymond aren’t involved in this new line-up…how and why was that decision made?

Burton: “It’s like a business and I’m just reorganising. After time you realise what’s important and what’s not important, and after talking to Dino again it just felt good and it felt right.”

Metal Hammer: Did you know straight away that you wouldn’t include Christian and Raymond in this…people are obviously going to ask why they’re not involved…

Burton: “We won’t talk about it. Ha ha ha! It’s part of the organisation. We learned some things and we have a really good rapport with Byron, and Gene is an amazing drummer. Dino and I, as the founders of Fear Factory, we thought ‘Hey, let’s try this, a different flavour’. Because wherever me and Dino go, it’ll still be Fear Factory, I believe.”

Dino: “I’ve had many projects in the past and I’ve played with some of the best drummers in this form of music, from Ray Mayorga to Nick Barker, Tim Yeung, Joey Jordison, and now I’m playing with the king of this genre. How could I pass that up? How could anyone pass up a chance to play with Gene Hoglan?”

Metal Hammer: So where does this leave Divine Heresy and The Watchers?

Burton: “in this day and age of music, you’ve got to keep busy, if you want to stay out there. The other bands, they’re still bands, but right now I’m gonna be working on Fear Factory. The Watchers are still around. I’ve got another band with Byron called City Of Fire that we just finished an album. The m ore creative and artistic you stay, the better it is for you, because you keep the creativity flowing. If the things you do are different or not, you’re staying creative. I really want to be in an artistic process at this stage in my life and everything has artistic value and Fear Factory is going to be a very true, creative project for me again.”

Dino: “I’m constantly writing music all the time. I think music sometimes. Even when I walk down the street I have to walk in rhythm. I think in beats and guitar riffs and I have to get them out. I can’t let it build up, I have to let it out. I’m constantly writing and working on other projects.”

Metal Hammer: You’ve set the benchmark pretty high with Demanufacture and the other FF albums you made in the past…is that a challenge you relish?

Burton: “Absolutely. We’re very excited and we’ve got a lot of high energy and creativity going on and that’s gonna really propel this project at this point/. We’re not going to stress out about what kind of music or how it should sound. We’re just going write what comes natural and that’s what we always did and that’s what set us apart to begin with.”

Dino: “And if I really suck on this record, at least Gene will sound good! You know, we’re not just going to try and match that classic record that we made in the past. I guess every band tries to do that. Slayer tries to match Reign In Blood and Metallica tries to match Master Of Puppets but you just have to move forward. Those classic records are in the back of your mind, but you just have to try and make the best record you possibly can.”

Metal Hammer: When’s the first gig?

Dino: “The first shows are booked for June and August, but that’s really all we’re doing right now. We might be hitting Australia in August too. The main thing is to make a new record.”

Metal Hammer: Technology has moved forward at a terrifying speed since your last record together…will Fear Factory be using new technology to get your music out there?

Dino: “Yeah, technology’s caught up with what we were talking about for a long time. We’re going to be working with a lot of people that have been around for a long time. Rhys Fulber’s going to be a part of it. We’re definitely going to make this the best record it can be and it’s definitely going to be very technology friendly.”

Metal Hammer: It would just be a shame if you came back and only released it on tape…

Dino: “I know. It’s only going to be released on cassette!”

Burton: “Yeah, we’ve found a way to stop the illegal downloading. We’re just releasing it on cassette and vinyl.”

Metal Hammer: Do you have any ideas for lyrical concepts for the record?

Burton: “You know, there’s a lot more to the future than just machines, and right now it’s just…the world’s kind of messed up and there’s a lot of material out there for me to write about. We’re on the verge of apocalypse, it seems to me, in a lot of ways, socially and technologically, mechanically. It’s all coming full circle so there’s plenty of material I can choose from and write some interesting lyrics.”

Metal Hammer: Is it strange to think “I’m in Fear Factory again!” after all this time?

Burton: “It feels natural to me. It feels good to think ‘I’m doing Fear Factory again with my old friend Dino’. Artistically, it feels good that way too.”

Dino: “For me, it feels like home. It’s the comfortable place you go.”

Metal Hammer: It’s great to have you back…

Burton: “It’s exciting. We’re going to let the music speak for itself and come out there and when we play Sonisphere, we’re going to bust out our best classics. By then we’ll have some new songs to introduce to some fans.”

Metal Hammer: They’d better be good, or there’ll be trouble.

Dino: “Ha ha ha! You don’t need to say that to me. Again, if I suck, Gene will sound good.”

Burton: “You know, Raymond is a great drummer and Gene is a great drummer, but they have different flavours, so it’ll be interesting to test that flavour out for a little bit.”

Metal Hammer: Gene is the king, let’s face it…

Dino: “He’s the guy that all those drummers I’ve played with have been influenced by. It feels good to be playing with one of the greats, someone that basically inspired every great metal drummer out there.”

Fear Factory will play Sonisphere and Bloodstock!

Metal Hammer sat down with Burton C Bell and Dino Cazares to discuss everything you need to know about the latest incarnation of Fear Factory!

In this world exclusive interview, Fear Factory founding members Burton C Bell and Dino Cazares talk about their friendship, why Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers weren’t involved, and their plans for a brand new album!

Metal Hammer: This has come as something of a surprise. Aren’t you guys supposed to hate each other?

Burton C Bell (vocals): “Well, you know, we were friends before we were in a band together and after a while we forgot what it was all about. The first time we saw each other in a long time was at the Ministry show in LA, and we just started talking again. It was like ‘I don’t really remember what it was all about!’ It’s like, good friendships will always return, basically.”

Metal Hammer: Were you surprised by that? Had you avoided each other?

Burton: “We never really avoided it, we were just never in the same place. We were in the same place that one night and it was like seeing an old friend again, and it was good!”

Dino: “Burt lives in Pennsylvania and I live in California, so obviously we never really had a chance to see each other. When we did see each other, it was like ‘What’s up, buddy? How’re you doing?’ It was like we’d never stopped being friends. It wasn’t weird, it just felt good. I already know him! Ha ha ha!”

Metal Hammer: So where did the idea come from that it might be time to collaborate on music again? Did that happen straight away?

Burton: “Not straight away. We were talking about it and the more we talked about it, the more it felt like a good idea, so we were just going to be collaborating on some new music.”

Dino: “Before we even talked about it, we had a few drinks! He was on tour with Ministry, he invited me backstage, we had a few drinks, and after that we kept in contact by phone and email and he approached me with the idea and I thought it was a great idea. We had to rekindle the friendship first and then move forward from there.”

Metal Hammer: You guys started Fear Factory in the first place…

Dino: “Me and him were in a band before Fear Factory, doing heavy Godflesh kind of stuff, and were also roommates and it kind of grew from there and we found other musicians and that’s how Fear Factory came about.”

Metal Hammer: When did you decide that this was going to be Fear Factory and not just a new project?

Dino: “Well, Burton pretty much approached me with that idea, and how could I say no? I’d be jamming with my old friend again and it’d great to collaborate with him because we wrote some of the best music of our lives together.”

Metal Hammer: Have you guys rehearsed together yet?

Dino: “Yesterday was our first rehearsal. It was amazing. The vibe was really good. It felt like we never stopped jamming. You know, Burton’s always got a million ideas and obviously I shit out riffs, and playing with one of the best drummers in the world…for me, it’s one of the best collaborations that I’ve ever been a part of.”

Metal Hammer: Do you have specific aims for the new Fear Factory or are you keeping an open mind about the possibilities?

Dino: “There are definitely specific things we want to achieve, but we have to approach this with an open mind. We don’t want to fully repeat ourselves, what we’ve done in the past, but we definitely do want to make this album the future of a classic record.”

Metal Hammer: A lot of bands are reforming these days and everyone always plays all the old classics…is that your plan too?

Dino: “One of the things about Fear Factory’s m.o. is that we were always a band that evolved, and that’s something we want to achieve now too. It’s obvious that we’ve got my signature right hand, my guitar, and we’ve got Burton’s signature vocals, but we’ve got a different drummer and this is eight years later, so there’s gonna be some different ideas and we’re gonna make it the best it can be. We’re not gonna put out a record that’s half-assed. It’s going to be 100 per cent Fear Factory and it’s going to be the future.”

Burton: “I wouldn’t say this is a reunion or a reformation. It’s more of a reorganisation. Fear Factory has been rolling around, even though we haven’t been chugging out records. The last one was four years ago, but it’s just in a state of reorganisation now.”

Dino: “I know a lot of bands, when they get back together they can basically go out and tour off the classics and that’s great. That’s something that we’re definitely going to do and I know a lot of the fans are going to want to hear Dino’s guitar sound back into the mix, and we’re really happy to be able to give them that. We’re going to have some European festivals coming up, including Sonisphere.”

Metal Hammer: …and you’re doing Bloodstock too, right?

Dino: “Yeah, we’re doing Bloodstock as well and some other festivals in Spain and Italy.”

Rhys Fulber’s going to be a part of it. We’re definitely going to make this the best record it can be and it’s definitely going to be very technology friendly.”

Metal Hammer: It would just be a shame if you came back and only released it on tape…

Dino: “I know. It’s only going to be released on cassette!”

Burton: “Yeah, we’ve found a way to stop the illegal downloading. We’re just releasing it on cassette and vinyl.”

Metal Hammer: Do you have any ideas for lyrical concepts for the record?

Burton: “You know, there’s a lot more to the future than just machines, and right now it’s just…the world’s kind of messed up and there’s a lot of material out there for me to write about. We’re on the verge of apocalypse, it seems to me, in a lot of ways, socially and technologically, mechanically. It’s all coming full circle so there’s plenty of material I can choose from and write some interesting lyrics.”

Metal Hammer: Is it strange to think “I’m in Fear Factory again!” after all this time?

Burton: “It feels natural to me. It feels good to think ‘I’m doing Fear Factory again with my old friend Dino’. Artistically, it feels good that way too.”

Dino: “For me, it feels like home. It’s the comfortable place you go.”

Metal Hammer: It’s great to have you back…

Burton: “It’s exciting. We’re going to let the music speak for itself and come out there and when we play Sonisphere, we’re going to bust out our best classics. By then we’ll have some new songs to introduce to some fans.”

Metal Hammer: They’d better be good, or there’ll be trouble.

Dino: “Ha ha ha! You don’t need to say that to me. Again, if I suck, Gene will sound good.”

Burton: “You know, Raymond is a great drummer and Gene is a great drummer, but they have different flavours, so it’ll be interesting to test that flavour out for a little bit.”

Metal Hammer: Gene is the king, let’s face it…

Dino: “He’s the guy that all those drummers I’ve played with have been influenced by. It feels good to be playing with one of the greats, someone that basically inspired every great metal drummer out there.”

Fear Factory will play Sonisphere and Bloodstock!
